HB 6167.22 is a part of the Chinese aviation industry standard that sets out the environmental conditions and test procedures for equipment installed in civil aircraft, and this part covers the radio frequency susceptibility test. The series as a whole is the Chinese counterpart of the international environmental qualification standard for airborne equipment and follows the same arrangement, in which each part addresses one category of environmental condition and states the test levels corresponding to the zones in which equipment may be installed. In this part that means the radiated field levels that airborne equipment must tolerate while continuing to perform its function, selected according to the exposure of the installation and the criticality of the equipment, together with the test set-up, the field generation and monitoring arrangements and the operating conditions under which the equipment is assessed. Compliance is judged against the performance criteria defined for the equipment category rather than by functional failure alone.
