GB/T 37408 is the Chinese standard setting the technical requirements for photovoltaic grid-connected inverters. It applies to the inverters that convert the direct-current output of a photovoltaic array into alternating current for connection to the Chinese distribution and transmission network, and it defines the performance that such an inverter must achieve in three areas. The electrical requirements cover the efficiency and the power quality of the conversion, the behaviour at part load and the accuracy and response of the maximum power point tracking. The grid interface requirements cover the tolerance of the inverter to deviations of voltage and frequency, the low voltage ride-through capability that lets it remain connected during a network fault, the control of active and reactive power and the anti-islanding protection that disconnects it when the network is lost. The electromagnetic compatibility requirements, covering both emission and immunity, complete the specification, and the corresponding test methods are defined for each requirement.
