High frequency recommended vocabulary
This is the general part of the Chinese series for alternating current electricity metering equipment, and its importance in China lies in the scale and the centralisation of the metering market: electricity meters are procured in very large quantities by the network operators, and before any meter is accepted it must not only satisfy the national standard but also pass the centralised verification that the operators carry out on production samples. The general part of the series provides the common requirements, the reference conditions and the permitted variation when those conditions change, and it classifies the equipment by accuracy class, connection type and construction; the accuracy and particular requirement parts complete the specification. For a foreign manufacturer the practical point is that a metering product for China must satisfy the verification regime as well as the standard, and the differences usually arise in the areas the general part governs, such as the behaviour of the metering register under conducted and radiated disturbance.
