This document is a component specification of the Chinese vehicle manufacturer FAW for a diesel engine electronic control unit, and its designator carries two pieces of information that are worth separating. The model year identifies the generation of the engine programme for which the specification was written, so a component qualified against it is qualified for that generation and not automatically for a later one; the revision number, here the seventh, indicates how many times the requirements have been amended within that generation, which in practice means that earlier revisions of the same document may be circulating among suppliers and subcontractors. A supplier should establish which revision the programme is working to and record it in the test plan, since the difference between revisions of an engine control specification often concerns the transient conditions on the supply and the behaviour of the unit during a start attempt.
Load dump pulses generated by the LDS 200NxxD comply with ISO 7637-2, ISO 16750-2, SAE J1113 and numerous vehicle manufacturer standards
